With pride, I recommend this article "The Light" by Zhao Yijing,a student majoring in performance in the 2020 class. From this article, we can clearly see that a girl who loves film and television has a dream in her heart and the light in her eyes. It is especially gratifying that she, and her classmates, clearly know that for this dream, they need to study hard and practice diligently; They need to constantly break through themselves and embrace life enthusiastically; They need to deeply root in the ground below feet, Staring at the sky above head in awe. We have reason to believe and expect that she, and her classmates, will be a new generation of outstanding film and television workers who tell Chinese stories in world languages. They will be the future light of China's film and television industry!

The Light 

2020 has got off to a rough start. A sudden outbreak of COVID-19 has hit China like crazy. The horrible panic and the endless uncertainty had been hovering above me for months. Gratefully, there was a bright light breaking it and illuminated my life: That is, our country soon achieved a decisive victory in the fight against the epidemic. As a young adult, I felt deeply for the first time, how lucky I am living in such a great country although life will inevitably encounter difficulties and hardships. Besides, what makes me more hopeful about the future is, I successfully, through the university entrance exam, entered a brand new International Film and Television Academy – Wardour Studios Academy, Haikou University of Economics.

In September, with a mixed feeling of excitement and nervousness, I began my college life here in Wardour Studios Academy, to pursue my dream of acting. I firmly believe that everything will start from scratch, and be hopeful, although everything is strange. It did not take long for me to feel that Wardour Studios Academy has everything I had expected of a college. There is no doubt that Wardour Studios Academy has a gorgeous campus and advanced facilities. But what I cherish the most are my remarkable teachers, and the precious opportunities that Wardour Studios Academy offers, thanks to my extraordinary professors and instructors, I had a smooth transition to my college life from high school and accustomed to commence courses and acquire skills as a freshman.The nervousness and upset I had at the beginning of the school year were gradually replaced by my endless curiosity for learning and my enormous desire to perform. 

I firmly believe that our respectful and dedicated teachers are working to breathe new life into film industry. We have remarkable professionals coming from the globe to teach us. Their different teaching methods and styles always bring me different ideas and perspectives on acting. I personally benefited tremendously from Mr. Aike’s lessons. In my eyes, his class is completely different from conventional performance courses. With an advanced performance System, he eschews the traditional teaching methods in favor of sharp feedback and novel expression. Besides, physical training and performance are neatly intertwined together in his class. Because of the use of integrated teaching, his course is practical for students and contributes to the overall quality of the students, which can stimulate our interest and tap our potential. After taking his course, I was able to go deep inside myself and found my true self in the glittering world of acting. Of course, in Wardour Studios Academy, there are many inspiring teachers like Mr. Aike.

The old saying holds true: Practice makes perfect. In the cultivation of performance arts, learning, accumulation and practice play an indispensable role. What calls for special attention is that Wardour Studios Academy just offers such a fabulous blend of practicing and major learning. Putting theory into practice isthe most ideal method to hone ours abilities to deal with emergency situation and mould a nimble character. “Straight to avenue of stars,everybody has a shot; Brandish youth stage, each is the leading role” is the promises that Wardour Studios Academy made to students and parents. Wardour Studios Academy has never failed to keep the promises. Actually, they have been doing above and beyond.
